San Jose

First day on our trip to Costa Rica. Great flight on Continental United. You can tell which flight attendants are ex-Con from Houston and which are from Chicago. Outside the airport we were greeted with rain. Imagine that! rain in the tropics! But we are settled in to our hotel for the first night - a small (25 rooms) colonial style hotel sitting on top of a mountain, with a view of San Jose way down in the valley. We met up with our sailing friends, Curtis and Theresa, who are staying at this hotel also. I think the only other hotel guests are those on our tour - biology teachers from the Houston and Dallas areas. The weather is muggy, warm (75 degrees, 75 percent humidity), but there are birds singing outside our screen window, and with the sun going down, there are mosquitoes just waiting for me to feed them. Faron has already tried the local beer and I have heard the local rum is good with lime. We'll have to see...
